Cherubs Photography - A Few Changes

Alasdair Fraser Photography is now one of the most recognised Cherub Photography studios in Ayrshire and the surrounding areas. We have for several years charged a Registration fee of £50 for our Cherubs service, this has now increased to £75. Clients registering are still entitled to the same three photography sessions and a complimentary triple folio (pictured) which in total is worth over £300.

Any Cherubs clients who may not wish to purchase large wall products and would prefer prints only will now have the choice of a studio viewing or online viewing to choose their images.

Unfortunately our cherubs photography will not be available as a gift voucher but we do have another great idea for a baby gift coming very soon - watch this space!

Kathryn & Calum's Wedding at Dryburgh Abbey

We recently had the pleasure in photographing Kathryn and Calum's wedding at Dryburgh Abbey in the Scottish Borders. It's not the first time we have photographed Kathryn and her family, they have been to our studio on more than one occasion for family portraiture and we are well acquainted with her son Wee Callum, a bit of a character in the studio! Friday the 1st of July saw some of the best weather we have had all year and allowed for an outdoor wedding ceremony in the beautiful grounds and spectacular ruins of Dryburgh Abbey. The Abbey holds a special place in Calum and Kathryn's hearts as it was the place Calum's Grandfather used to live and work. We had a wonderful day with Kathryn, Calum, their family and friends, in a wonderful setting making it a pleasure to be a wedding photographer!

Cathy Jamieson MP awards Easter Egg Competition Winners

Alasdair Fraser Photography recently ran an Easter colouring and design competition for local children.

An amazing 312 children entered, and today the winning children received their prizes from local MP Cathy Jamieson. Each child won chocolate eggs and the overall winners from each category, also won a set of House of Commons colouring pencils, and a letter from Cathy.

Cathy told the children, that of all her duties, parliamentary and local, that judging this competition was the hardest job she had ever done.

The standard of the children’s artwork was incredible, with entries from nursery 3 year olds, up to primary seven 11 year olds, and makes a wonderful display in the studio.

It's that time of year again and Prom photography is in full swing. Alasdair was lucky enough to photograph Megan and many of her friends from Grange Academy Prom in Kilmarnock tonight. I had a lovely session this morning with this beautiful little girl Charley. She's only 4 weeks old but very alert and more than happy to be photographed. This is her first Cherubs session so I'm hoping we have just as much fun at her next two.

Sneaky Peak - Cherubs Photography

Here is a sneaky peak at a couple of Cherub's babies we had the pleasure of photographing yesterday, it was Cooper's first session and Ava's second session, they were both an absolute joy to photograph.





Cherubs Photography is a service we offer in conjunction with the Master Photographers Association (MPA) where we photograph babies at three different sessions over their first year and each baby receives a beautiful triple folio with an image from each session. It cost £50 to register on our Cherubs scheme and the sessions and folios are free. It's a great idea for parents who want to keep track of their baby's first (and often very busy) year with beautiful award winning professional photography.

Cherubs photography is also available as a gift voucher for only £50 which makes a great New Baby or Christening gift.

Last year we were delighted to be chosen as Yvonne and Tim's wedding photographers for the first wedding to be held at Dumfries House ,Cumnock, Ayrshire since it reopened in 2007.

What a privilege to photograph a fantastic couple in such beautiful surroundings.

Easter Egg Competition - All the entries!

Well done to all our winners and thank you to all the children who took part. We received over 300 entries! Everyone is welcome to pop into the shop to look at the display.

Easter Egg Competition

After much deliberation and a helping hand from local MP Cathy Jamieson we are pleased to announce the winners of our recent Easter Art Competition. The standard of entries were fabulous, showing that we would appear to have a lot very artistic and creative children in the Mauchline area! There were three categories in total, the younger two age groups were asked to colour in a pre designed egg (drawn by Alasdair and Averil's daughter Abby) and older age group were asked to design their own egg. We knew judging would be difficult so we enlisted the help of Cathy Jamieson MP who herself has a keen interest in art. The final winners were chosen yesterday and we now have a full display of all the "egg" artworks in our shop. All the winners will be contacted soon to arrange the collection of their prizes (before Alasdair gets his hands on all the chocolate eggs!).

We would like to say a very big thank you to all the children who took part, as well as all the staff at Mauchline Primary/Nursery school who helped their pupils to participate. Thanks also to Cathy Jamieson for taking time within her busy schedule to select the final winners.

MPA Portrait and Cherubs Awards Success

It's been another successful year for Alasdair and Averil at the Scottish Master Photographers Association awards with Averil winning an Award of Excellence with this black and white image in the Under 5 Category, Alasdair winning an Award of Excellence in the Cherubs Category and Averil being awarded a Merit in the Cherubs Folio Category (3 images of the same baby taken over the year).

Cherubs Baby Photography

Here is another one of our beautiful Cherubs babies, she comes all the way from Taunton in Somerset for her Cherubs sessions with us and this is an image from third and final session.

Cherubs photography is a service we provide in association with the Master Photographers Association where we photograph babies at 3 intervals over their first year. Parents then choose a favourite image from each session and at the end of the year they have their images presented in beautiful folio for them to cherish. We charge a one off registration fee of £50 for this service and then there are no further costs. Gift vouchers for Cherubs are also available and make a wonderful New Baby/Christening present.

Alasdair has been the winner of the Scottish MPA Cherubs Folio Category two years in a row 2009/2010 and Averil was the Scottish MPA Cherubs Photographer of the year in 2007.

Ayrshire Cherubs Babies in National £10,000 Cherub of the Year Competition

Today is the last day for entries into this years national Master Photographers Association "Cherub of the Year" competition.
